Safeguarding Policy

Super Star Football Club is committed to creating and maintaining a safe environment for every child and young person involved in our academy and community programmes. The welfare of the child is, and always will be, our first priority.

This commitment applies regardless of a child's age, gender, ethnicity, disability, religion, or background, and is central to our motto: We Play In Peace For Peace.

This policy applies to all coaches, staff, volunteers, board members, and anyone else acting on behalf of Super Star Football Club who has contact with children and young people, whether at training, matches, trials, or Club events.

Every child has the right to be protected from abuse and harm, regardless of their circumstances.

The interests and welfare of the child come before winning, results, or the reputation of the Club.

All concerns about a child's welfare will be taken seriously and responded to appropriately.

Working in partnership with players, parents, guardians, and the wider community is essential to keeping children safe.

The Club designates a Safeguarding Officer responsible for overseeing this policy, receiving and acting on concerns, and liaising with parents, guardians, and relevant authorities where necessary.

All coaches and staff working directly with players under 18 are expected to understand and follow this policy as a condition of their role with the Club.

The Club takes reasonable steps to satisfy itself as to the suitability of anyone working directly with children, including gathering references and, where practicable, background checks appropriate to the local context, before they are permitted unsupervised contact with players.

Coaches and volunteers must always treat players with dignity and respect, avoid situations of unsupervised one-on-one contact with a child wherever possible, use age-appropriate language and coaching methods, and never use physical punishment or humiliation as a disciplinary method.

Any physical contact with a player (for example, demonstrating technique or attending to an injury) should be appropriate, necessary, and carried out openly.

Anyone who has a concern about the welfare of a child connected to the Club — whether a player, parent, coach, or member of the public — is strongly encouraged to report it to our Safeguarding Officer without delay, using the details on our Contact page.

All concerns will be treated confidentially and taken seriously. Where a child may be at immediate risk of harm, we will not delay in seeking appropriate support from local authorities.

No one raising a genuine safeguarding concern in good faith will face any negative consequence from the Club for doing so.

Where the Club photographs or films training and matches, we do so with the awareness and, where required, consent of a parent or guardian, and only for legitimate club purposes such as our website, social media, and promotional material. Bullying of any kind — by players, coaches, or anyone else associated with the Club — is not tolerated. This includes physical, verbal, and online bullying. Reports of bullying will be investigated and addressed promptly and fairly.

This Safeguarding Policy is reviewed periodically by Club leadership to ensure it remains effective and reflects good practice. The Club welcomes feedback from players, parents, and guardians on how we can continue to strengthen the safety of our programmes.
